Fabric & Mixed Media Wall Art
Original fabric and mixed media wall art, made by hand to order with textile, paint and applied materials. Free insured shipping Australia-wide and 30-day free returns.
This is the smallest collection on the site and the most physical. Fabric and mixed media work brings materials onto the canvas that paint alone can’t produce — woven and folded textile, applied fibre, layered surfaces built and reworked by hand. Each piece is closer to a made object than a painted image.
Thirteen originals, each made to order rather than printed, shipped free and fully insured Australia-wide with a photo preview before dispatch and 30 days to return.

Why fabric changes a wall
Textile does something on a wall that paint cannot: it absorbs sound and softens light instead of reflecting it. In rooms with hard surfaces — polished concrete, stone benchtops, large windows, minimal soft furnishing — a fabric piece takes the edge off the acoustics as well as the look. It is a small effect, but it is the reason a textile work often feels right in a room where a conventional canvas felt cold.
Living with mixed media
Because these pieces have applied materials and real depth, they suit walls where they can be seen from an angle and reasonably close — a hallway you pass daily, a landing, the wall beside a reading chair — rather than a distant wall across a large room, where the making disappears. Keep them out of direct, sustained sunlight, which fades textile faster than paint, and out of bathrooms and other humid rooms. Dust with a dry, soft brush only; never damp-wipe fibre. For the same handmade surface in paint alone, see textured wall art.
Made to order, one of one
Each piece is made after you order it and photographed for your approval before it ships. Because these are assembled by hand from physical materials, variation between pieces is inherent to the form rather than a flaw in it.
Frequently asked questions
What is mixed media wall art?
Mixed media art combines more than one material on a single work — for example paint with textile, fibre or other applied materials — so the finished piece has physical depth and varied surface rather than a single painted layer.
How do I care for a fabric artwork?
Dust gently with a dry, soft brush. Do not use water, cleaning sprays or a damp cloth. Keep it out of direct sustained sunlight and away from humid rooms such as bathrooms.
Will fabric fade over time?
Textile fades faster than paint under direct sunlight. Hung out of direct sun, a fabric piece holds its colour well; on a wall that takes hours of afternoon sun each day, expect gradual change.
Are these original works?
Yes — every piece is made by hand to order. We do not sell prints or reproductions.
