Breaking Gold is a hand-painted abstract seascape built in thick palette-knife impasto, a single crest of molten paint cutting a horizontal line of gold across a black textured ground before rising into a breaking wave on the right. The palette stays narrow, black and gold, so the ridged brushwork does the talking, heavy and directional, catching light differently depending on where you stand.
